Q. Does allstate raise your rates after 1 ticket?

"But the increase of rate in insurance by allstate is not effective from..."

Allstate usually increases the rate of insurance after one ticket . but the increase of rate in insurance by Allstate is not effective from the same time when the ticket is issued. The increased rates of insurance are applicable from the next financial year .

Q. Does allstate raise your rates after 1 ticket?

"Its the first ticket or not the insurance companies has to increase the insurance..."

THE ALLSTATE is a very reputable insurance organisation and like all the other organisations she has to abide by the law in order to continue this repute. so the law says that whether its the first ticket or not the insurance companies has to increase the insurance rates of the person who has got the speeding ticket due to overspeeding. so yes the allstate will increase the insurance amount from 10% to 15%.

Q. Does allstate raise rates after speeding tickets?

"As a fine for that then the allstate definitely will raise his insurance premium..."

The allstate is a very reliable insurance company and the users are very satisfied by them. if the person is caught for over speeding and he has given the speeding ticket as a fine for that then the allstate definitely will raise his insurance premium as per the law states so that the person keeps himself safe next time while driving. THey won't raise your rates until your policy renews. Then they'll keep the rates raised, for three full policy years.

Q. My allstate insurance guy is trying to tell me that pleasure does not cost less than drive to work for our car
is this true? i am pregnant and not working anymore. i do have one accident from a year ago which of couse raised our rates. my husband has better rate because he has not had any accidents in the last 5 years at least. so instead of pleasure under my name the insurance guy put drive to work under my husbands name. i'm kinda of tired of the insurance guy already. is he right or is he just scamming me?

"As a former customer service rep for an independent insurance agency..."

I'm in the same situation (new stay at home mom no longer driving to work) and my Allstate agent told me the same thing. As a former customer service rep for an independent insurance agency, I saw many companies changing the old hard and fast rules that governed vehicle usage classes. It used to be that companies had between 1 and 5 rating tiers based on your age and driving record alone, and in each tier pleasure use was always rated lower than driving to work. Now companies have many more tiers, maybe 10-50 or more based on all kinds of crazy criteria (like whether or not you went to college, puh-leez!), and changes in usage don't necessarily merit lower rates anymore. In fact, sometimes changing from work use to pleasure would actually increase someone's rate! No insurance company could ever give me a decent reason for this, it was "just part of the rating software that can't be changed". This is just one of the many reasons I'm so glad to be out of the insurance business! FYI - I got an online quote from the insurance company with the cute little lizard (you know the one I'm talking about!) and it was way less than Allstate. If you decide to shop around make sure you get quotes wth at least the same limits you have now. The lizard initially gives you basic limits but you can increase them to match what you currently have if necessary.

Q. Hit by an excluded driver (cited and arrested) - do i pursue diminished value against driver or owner?
i am hoping someone out there has some knowledge on this. my baby and i were hit by a street racing car that was driven by an "excluded" driver. i have over $14k damage to my car that my insurance company (allstate) is paying for under my policy, then the following items that i must pay for: 1. 6-8 weeks of rental car to pay for and my car might still not be ready (parts, parts, parts), 2. everything in my car that was broken (an expensive stroller) and stolen from the lot as the car was completely open post-accident (cds, dvds, beach items) [allstate did buy a new carseat for my baby the day after the accident]. 3. the loss of value/diminished value when i try to sell the car (according to online calculations it will be around $5,000) 4. my no-way-around-it raise in rate for being hit by an uninsured driver how do i recoup on my out of pocket expenses? small claims court in ca is 7,500.00 - do i try to collect this way and do i go after driver or owner? thank you both! the online loss value calculator must not work in the "real world". i will check with my adjuster (who has been less than helpful - she told me my consolation should be that the driver's license was suspended). if the driver drives w/o insurance, i am sure he is driving w/o a license. "blood from a turnip" has been used a lot. thx.

"Allstate will pursue the registered owner of..."

Having been an adjuster in CA for Allstate.....CA does not recognize dimunition of value claims so don't even try it. Allstate will pursue the registered owner of the car that caused damage to yours to recover what they paid to repair your vehicle PLUS your deductible, but they can not pursue any out of pocket expenses for you. Your Allstate policy has a Right of Recovery clause. YOU cannot do anything to jeopardize their right of recovery. If you sue the guy, you have to sue him in Civil Court (not small claims) & you have to sue for ALL the damages (cost of repairs, your deductible, your out of pocket)--you can not sue for just your out of pocket alone b/c if you do and you win you have barred Allstate from collecting back their money--and if you do this, they will come after YOU for what they paid and additional damages. It's called breach of contract, and you do not want this to happen to you. I've seen it happen. Don't believe me? Read your policy and ask your claims adjuster.
