Yes, sometimes if there is any breakage or crackage of ribs ,then it may cause sharp pain in breast .If the person wants to know the accurate reason of pain in breasts ,have a breast exam and consult with a good doctor. Take Care :)

Q. My left side under my breast which is my rib cage why does it hurt so painfully and sharp?
i am 18 years of age.okay lately ive been haven pains under my breast on the left side which is my rib cage.and before i had gallbladder problems but really its not that at least i dont think again?! i never got it out! and then before school started i have diagnosed with pleursy which is inflammtion in my lungs.okay now my votech nursing assistant teacher says it could be gallstones or gallbladder! im afraid please someone help me!

the rib pain they say comes from a chronic rib fracture of the 10th left rib. my entire back hurts and they can't find wht is cauing it, any ideas

If you have cancer still left anywhere in your body than you are not in remission. If you have not done so, I would ask the doctors for a CT and PET scan and/or a bone marrow biopsy to rule out metastasis. Stay strong.

Q. Random pains started under left breast near rib and now the right side is starting to hurt what is?
random pains that comes under left breast near rib cage. it is also a little swollan on that side compaired to the right side, the pain will come when ever it wanted to ...it could come when i wake up, when i go to bed, some times after i eat but it is just random pains..i had it for about 4 months now and now it is starting on the right side. what could it be ?should i go to the doctor? i think i feel a lump not sure. what doctor do i go and see??? has anyone have this before and if so please tell me what your story is and what your doctor did ..thanx

Go see your general practitioner / family doctor. Pain and swelling that comes and goes for four months is definitely something to see the doctor about. If you need to see a specialist your general doctor will tell you which one to see.

Q. Left side rib pain any ideas?
it's very uncomfortable to lay on my left side, and has been for a few months, but now it seems to be getting worse, and it does hurt to press on my side, most of the pain being directly in line with my left breast, but on my side about 3-4 inches away. at times it's a constant pain, but i can tolerate it, and with each breath, but again, it's tolerable. if i tighten my side muscle, like pushing down on something, it does hurt worse. any ideas? i don't enjoy going to doctors, but if i have to i will.

Sounds like a muscle pull/strain. It can take a long time for deep muscles to heal from an injury, can you remember any trauma that may have happened before it started hurting? The fact that it hurts during inhale also lends to this conclusion. If it persists or gets worse you may just have to buck up and see a doc. Good luck

Q. I have a pain in the side of my left breast, is it possibly breast cancer??
i have had a constant pain in my left breast close to my armpit for about 6 months. i went to the doctor after about the first month and he said it was probably a swolen lymph node and would go away in a few weeks. it never did. the pain feels like someone poked me in the side of my rib and is always there, sometimes hurting more than other times. could this be cancer of maybe fibrocystic breast disease? i have a sister with fibrocystics breast disease but she says the pain is typically in both breasts and gets worse with caffiene or closer to her period. please help and/or give me some resources to work with. thanks!

It's probably not breast cancer. If it is fibrocystic breast disease, it is aggravated by coffee, tea, chocolate and nuts. When I backed off of those items, the pain lessened. For breast cancer look for the following items: skin that looks like orange peel a pucker in the skin of the breast (the first two were my symptoms; they looked like scar tissue, but I'd never had surgery there) leaking nipple or inverted nipple one breast getting smaller of course, the lump If you are concerned, please go to your doctor and request an ultrasound or mammogram. I applaud your diligence in this; it could save your life!

Q. Rib pain on lower left side?
last friday while lifting my grandson into his baby crib, i felt & heard a pop just below my breast rib area. the next morning i was in pain and went to see my doctor. he took xray and was initially told i fractured my rib. by the following wednesday the pain extended all the way down that same side. they took more xrays and havent yet called me back with results since last wed ! when i sit or lay down the compression of the lower rib causes extra pain so bad i cry and it hurts to the touch. when standing, i can feel the lower rib float and it sticks out slightly more than the others. it feels like the rib is poking or rubbing something inside...what should i do next. this is driving me crazy and causing me to miss work way too many days...help/advise please.

If your condition is worsening go back to your doctor for painkillers or go to A & E if it is an emergency now.

Q. Left rib pain under breast?
okay so for the past week or so i've been having this pretty sharp pain on my left rib right under where it meets with my breast. it hurts when i lay down on that side, when i cough, sneeze or breathe too hard, or even when i move in a certain way. whats going on? it's kinda sore to the touch too.
