Plus I suddenly have a lot more breast then I have ever had before but I never thought of it being because of the implant but maybe it is.Infection: As with any surgery, infections can happen. Most infections appear shortly after surgery, within a few days or weeks. The most serious infections can cause toxic shock syndrome and can be fatal or result in gangrene.Hope my answer will help you a lot.

Any surgery is painful afterward to some extent while you are going through the healing process. If you have a low pain tolerance perhaps you should consult with a licensed plastic surgeon an ask him/her the outcomes of breast augmentation.

My girl friend got them. It was like she was hit by a truck. She could not do anything for two weeks, sitting up was a problem for at least a week. They look great. She had to get one of them redone to add more saline (2nd time was no big deal because doc was not jamming new implants into her little chest). She has zero regrets.

You don't feel anything while under anesthesia, assuming you get general, which is the norm for a breast aug. The incision ought to be pretty small. What will bother you more is the stretching of the tissues and some muscle spasm. Hopefully, your surgeon will give you a muscle relaxant to help with spasms. Skin incisions typically have a stinging sort of pain. Internal pain is usually more achey. At least, that's been my experience. Good luck with your procedure.

a serious breast infection. i got a infection from a breast implant surgery. it sat inside me for 8 whole months before i started to get really sick. i had the implant removed from the infected breast after it had been in for 8 months. it is now been almost 5 months since i have had it removed. the infection is now gone but my breast still hurts. i will not be able to have my implant put back in until june. which is fine with me because it still hurts. can anyone out there give me an idea about what kind of damage i may have in my breast that is still not yet healed and giving me trouble? i know my dr said something about tissue damage and nerve s on tissues and my nerves are probably "pissed off" does anyone have any ideas? there is no swelling. no drainage. just when you kind of massage of feel the breast it feels like a bruise..super sore. i don't think i have an abscess..i don't know how i would if there is no infection (culture taken from wound 3 months after surgery and came back negative for infection) any serious ideas would be helpful. yeah hey, thanks..you know after almost dying, spending 2 weeks in the hospital away from my daughter and husband, who just got back from iraq, and losing about ahhhh $6,000. i also think it was a stupid idea. your stupid commenst really arent helpful, a******

Breast implant surgery is major stuff, and any time the body suffers from a massive infection there is a risk of long-term pain & slow healing. Not sure if there's any permanent damage (I'll leave diagnosis up to the medical professionals) but it's certainly possible. All I can suggest is what you're doubtless already doing: keep the sore breast properly supported, keep up with exercise & a proper diet, keep an eye out for any sign of infection, and keep a positive attitude as much as possible. And ignore the assholes. Some people have nothing better to do than come on here and rip on people they don't even know ~ it gives their rancid little ego a boost and gets them through the day.

"Was the breast implant encapsulated..."

Was the breast implant encapsulated? Meaning that it could have had capsular contracture attached to it? It seems like 5 months should be enough time to heal from this, even if you had an infection!...If you had capsular contracture along with the infection, maybe you are still healing internally! Did you take any antibiotics after the removal? Maybe the pain you feel is from the nerves regenerating again! I would advice you to get an ultrasound just to see what's going on? I have a friend that had a very bad case of infection from an implant, but her boob was very red and she had lots of pain! Best of luck and if you have any concern request an ultrasound or even mammogram!

First of all changing your body is a personal decision and no one has a right to say dumb things like the first woman did about low self esteem. I say go for it it is your body? Yes it is OK to heal slowly and it hasn't been a week, as long as you are improving everyday then no worries, but when you start being more active you will also be sore from that. Just watch out for the signs of infection etc that your Dr gave you and call the office with any concerns. Make sure you follow instructions it will make your recovery quicker and your outcome what you want it to be. Congrats and take care of yourself

i had the surgery 2 years ago. i ahve been having alot of pain in my boobs the last couple weeks and they are very sensitive and sore. at one moment one side will hurt and later the other side and at times there both fine. they also feel fuller. my periods due tomorow but i've never had pain like this from that. my upper left arm has also fealt odd since yesterday as if i was punched or had excersized but i hadn't. any one know what could be wrong with me?

for anybody that has had breast implants how painful is it? i have gone to a consult for breast implants with a surgion to see the cost and size best suited for my body. i've asked people at the surg.'s office and they say the pain is like a hard core upper body workout. but they might be just saying that and it could be more painful. the procedure is going to be done under the muscle so it's prob. going to hurt more. has anybody had any experience with breast augmentation. i'm a very small size a and want to go to a big b small c so is there more pain involved with size as well?

"The worst lasted just over a week..."

I went from an A to a C, I went over the muscle. The pain was not that bad when I was on the pain meds. I felt nothing lying down, but when I stood up, I could feel the effects of gravity. I only stayed on the meds a couple of days due to side effects, but it was definately worse than a hard chest workout. The worst lasted just over a week, when I complained about the pain to my Dr. he said "the other way is much worse" meaning that if I went under the muscle, I would have been a lot worse. Since you are only going up one size, the pain should be less than those going bigger. Just be prepared to be in pain for a while.

Q. Breast surgery pain afterwards?
i had breast implants put in one month ago tomarrow. my left breast is perfectly fine but the right one gets this sharp shooting, burning pain several times a day (especially in the morning) the doctor told me it may be some nerve damage and to push on the part where it hurts for as long as i can stand it. he said that the nerve endings have to reattach themselves and that is all it is and made it seem like its no big deal and it should clear up soon. (again its already been a month) can someone please give me any info or options or at least tell me that this is only temporary? i'm scared that i'm going to have this problem permanently. thanks

Do what your doctors says, this goes away and is part of the healing process.

1. i am 18 years old, since the time i started to develop around age 12 i realized i was much saggier than all my friends. as i got older it got worse and worse, now it is terrible i am a 34 c and my boobs look like those of a mother who had breast fed her children. its embarrassing to wear low-cut shirts with out wearing a push-up bra and bathing suits with out having the ties so tight it hurts my neck! i am not overweight and i have tried working out (years of it) to get my chest area tighter but nothing has seemed to work. i am fine with my size, but the saggyieness makes me feel terrible. i have been considering a lift or implants, depending on how much lift i could get without implants. i wouldnt care if they took me to a full b if i could get a nice lift. guys: would you rather have a girl who sags or a girl with implants/whos had surgery? girls: what would you do if you were in this situation?

I have implants and I love them. The decision should be based on whether or not you're happy with what you have, if not then change it. But let me tell you, lifts are about double what implants are, so think about that first. Also go with silicone gel, not saline. Trust me, I made that mistake and ended up getting a second surgery because I wasn't happy with the saline. I now have silicone gel and they feel real. I spent about $8000 between the 2 surgeries.
