"If you have insured you car you should have car..."

How can you don`t know what your car is insured with ? Did you stole it? If you have insured you car you should have car insurance documents where you can see everything and you need to pay for insurance how can you pay when you don`t know to whom to pay? If your parents are doing that than they knows with who your car is insured with. John Doubtson

Q. How do i get my new car insured with my g1 license?
i am in the process of buying a car with my g1 license. my parents are willing to have their names on the insurance. however, the car is solely under my ownership. is there anyway to get my car insured?

"You can try this company - http://carquotes.imess.net - i personally have their car insurance..."

You can try this company - http://carquotes.imess.net - I personally have their car insurance. As I know they have such a service for G1, and have most affordable insurance policies for teens and first time drivers.

Q. How far is your car insured in regards to stupidity?
i mean, what happens if you let someone help you with your shopping bags to the car and once there they grab the key off you and drive off with the car? now firstly will the insurance company actually believe the story or just think you left the keys in the car? or if they do believe it is your car still fully insured since you pretty much handed the key over to a stranger?

"I left the keys in the car..."

That's theft - a criminal act on someone's else part for which you should not be held responsible. Even if you told the insurance company, I left the keys in the car, I left it running outside a busy shopping mall, I think they will still pay your claim anyway, even though, as pointed out, you will be responsible for the hassle of dealing with this, buying a new car, paying the deductible, etc., so it's probably not a good idea. That said, where I grew up, in the winter, people leave their cars running, unattended all the time while they're inside shopping - the insurance won't deny their claim for this, since it's mainly the stupdity of the criminal, not theirs. Also, deductible are not always something - my comprehensive deductible are $0, and it only costs $30-50 more a year for this.

Q. Is it possible to have your car insured in a different state than the state of your driver's license?
i go to college in massachusetts but have a florida state driver's license. can i get my car insured in massachusetts? i am a sophomore and have been "living" there for over a year and a half now.

"If your car is insured in one state..."

Yes, if your car is insured in one state, it is insured in all 50 states. Your driver's license entitles you to drive any car you have permission to drive.

Q. What if my dad has a car insured under his name and i get into an accident?
after the accident, the person gets very hurt. how much money can i be sued for? will my dad's insurance still pay for it since it is his car that is insured?

"Thing done to you will not be insured and is going to come out..."

This is how it works. Insurance with the proper coverage will always cover the car being driven by you and the car that was hit or hit you. As long as the car has this kind of coverage chances are its going to insure the person in the other car if they get hurt. But if your not under your dads insurance policy, you are not covered. So any thing done to you will not be insured and is going to come out of your own pocket. Unless its the other vehicles fault and they have uninsured motorist coverage. In my accident, when a dumptruck hit my car, it was my dads insurance policy but I was under it. And since it was the dumptrucks fault, the city paid for all problems. Its always smart to be driving a vehicle that your insured for.

Q. Can someone drive my drive car with a suspended license but can still be insured?
this might be confusing, i want to buy a car from a dealership and have it registered under my name because my gf's license is suspended. i must get full coverage for the car which is fine but i want it insured under her name is that ok to do?? i don't need a another car insured that i'm not driving.

"And allow her to drive your car..."

The simple fact is that your girlfriend is not legally allowed to drive. If you know this (and by posting the question you have proven that you do) and allow her to drive your car, you can be charged with allowing an unlicensed person to drive. If she was to be pulled over, the car would be impounded. In case of an accident, the insurance may cover you, but then they would cancel your policy. They may also consider this to be fraud, and try to avoid any coverage at all. Tell your girlfriend that you can not let her drive any car in your name unless and until she gets her license restored.

Q. Do i have to keep my car insured if i'm not going to be driving it for a while?
i am going out of town for six to eight months and i am not taking my car with me. i don't want to pay for insurance during that time since no one will be driving it. since the car is financed does it have to stay insured?

"It doesn't have to be insured..."

It doesn't HAVE to be insured, but if you drop the physical damage (comp, collision) the lender will place their own coverage on it and add that cost to your loan balance. That "forced" coverage covers only the lender's interest in the car, not you, so it's no bargain. You might write to the lender to explain what you're planning to do so they don't panic when you drop the liability, which is perfectly legal to do.

Q. What are the consequeneces of getting caught without a ca dmv licence in california by a police? car insured?
yeah my mom just told me that they do not take away the car if you do not have a license. so i just want to confirm that and would like to know the consequences. difference if the car is insured or no?

"They will most likely will impound your car unless there is another passenger that..."

Are you talking about having a valid license but just not having it with you at the moment, or driving while not having license at all? The first is a minor infraction, you'll get a small fine if that. The second is very serious, and they will most likely will impound your car unless there is another passenger that can drive it home. And either way you'll pay a huge fine.

Q. Do used car dealerships give you time to get your car insured and still take the car home?
i live in maryland and i am planning on getting a car but i don't want to have to make 2 trips to the dealership to buy the car then to pick it up because i probably would have to pay someone to take me because its far enough where someone will most likely want gas money..... i wanted to know if i could take the car home the same day without insurance and have like 48 hours to get it insured.....i live in maryland

"For the car..."

Call the insurance company ahead of time. Get a "Binder" for the car. After you buy the car call the insurance back and give them the VIN, etc.

Q. How do i go about getting a car insured if i have no license?
due to circumstances that i don't need to get into, i am 21 and only have my instructional permit. i know a few people are old enough (21+) and would be willing to go out with me while i practice driving as well as taking me to my test. however, none of them have cars that will pass drive test standards (even a minor crack in the windshield disqualifies you here! oi!) so my thought lately has been to buy a passing car and insure it so that i have my own car to get used to driving in and also don't put anyone else's car at risk, etc. etc. is it even possible for me to do so? thanks for any help! in case it makes a difference, i live in oregon state.

Not a big deal. You just have to go down to a local agent, to fill out the application. YOU the OWNER can be listed with a permit, but you ALSO have to list (name, dl#, dob) a LICENSED OPERATOR on the policy.
