If the person wants to check out that whether a car is insured or not, he needs to go to his local DMV or department of motor vehicles. The person gets his car insured when he buys it. So, he can also check the papers of the car also to find if a car is insured

In our State the insurance information is recorded when the tag is purchased, but is not available when we run the tag. So at least here, you would not be able to find out if it's insured.
Did you call the police and file a report? If you have and they found the vehicle/driver, they would have to provide proof of insurance and it should be listed on the accident report. You should be able to obtain a copy of it at a minimal cost.
If you didn't file a report you might think about doing so.

Q. How do you convert a salvage car title to a clean title? i recently purchased a car with a nc salvage title and my insurance company won't insure it for anything more than liability coverage. i spoke to an adjustor for the insurance company and he told me that if i can find a way to get a clean title they will fully insure the car. even if it comes up in the vin history report that it formerly had a total loss claim, they will still fully insure the car. the process has been done in the past to defraud people into buying a car that's not worth as much but i'm just trying to work this out so i can insure my car with full coverage.
Are you wanting to go to jail for insurance fraud? There's no way you can turn a salvage vehicle into a non-salvaged vehicle. and believe you me, there's alot of VIN history the general public doesn't have access to...so don't try it, you'll get caught.

Q. Insurance companies that would insure on vin number in uk? hello,
i am in process of registering an imported car with dvla. one of the things they require is a current british insurance. the problem is that that i cannot find a company that would do this. most of them say that they require an uk registration. it is catch 22 situation.
perhaps somebody has experience with this and could suggest companies that would insure on the vin number, at least untill i get the registration from the dvla (2-3 days).
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=specialist+import+car+insurance gives you a list of specialist import insurance. You're doing something outside the norm for most insurance companies so you need to go to a specialist company and be prepared for the hefty price tag that they're going to put on it.

Do police write down the vin # when they issue a summons? my car slid down a little incline and partially into a street. perhaps some wiseguy kid pushed it, or perhaps my emergency brake did not hold. i don't know. on it i found 3 summons. the first was, of course, for the car being in the street. the second was for not having a valid inspection sticker. and the third was for incorrect license plates. i just bought the car and haven't gotten around to registering it yet. however, i have gotten it inspected and it is insured. i looked carefully on the summons and the vin # of my car was not on the summons. what happens if i don't pay the summons? do the police keep a record of their own with the vin #? would the person from whom i purchased the car be held liable for the tickets? i plan on registering the car this week and the car will be parked near where i received the 3 summons. what are my chances that a diligent policeman will recheck the car and be able to find out if i did not pay the outstanding summons? are these parking violations?
If you don't go to court or pay the summons they will issue a warrant for your arrest, yes they are parking violations, and yes you will go to jail if you don't pay them

Car policy of a person who crashed my car? hi... i have a question about a problem that i'm having. i recently got in a car accident with a driver from the new jersey stat. i wish to find the insurance company who insured the veichle who crash my vehicle. i have a police report which states the vehicle number and the vin number is that helpful.

Nope, the POLICE can find out that information, but they can't tell YOU. It's private information. Just go ahead and do whatever you'd do if they weren't insured - which is usually suing them directly. Either their insurance company will show up and defend them, or they won't.
Although it would just be EASIER for you if you go through your own insurance company, and let THEM chase after the other guy.

Q. I have a car that i need to scrap? i need to scrap my car?
i have an old 1994 plymouth voyager with 195k miles on it that i need to scrap. the building that i live in only has 1 parking spot, so its currently parked over at my friend's office building - but the landlord says i need to remove it or else he would have someone tow it and charge me for it.
so i was wondering, if i find a scrap yard to tow the car, what happens afterwards? will they give me some kind of a document proving the car is not mine anymore, and relieving me of any responsibility of what happens to this car after they tow it? (car is not insured by the way, nobody has driven it for like 2 years so its just sitting there. however the vin number is still under my name).
however the problem is i have to remove it by tomorrow (monday)...and i cannot find my title certificate...however i do have the dmv registration card, insurance payment receipts, purchasing contract, etc...but just not title certificate. will i still be able to have it towed?
They should be able to pick it up. You just need to sign a release of interest and it will take the place of the title. To the clown who said "cliff it" I hope your property is at the bottom of that cliff.

i even found one that claims the report is free, until i put in the vin, then they want to charge me for the report.
i want to insure that someone has a clear title to a car, they are trying to sell me.
carfax charges for the actual report.
they lost the title, but have the registration.
autocheck.com found more records then carfax, and is charging over $10 less then carfax for the report.

No, there is not. If you want the report you need to either have the seller provide one or you spend the money for it.

The police report should also have the insurance information. The officer that wrote up the report should have recorded that info if you didn't - and if you didn't why not???? It's standard procedure to exchange information when you have an accident.
If you don't have it, perhaps the NJ DMV can help, but I don't know if they give out that info - or simply ask the other person, if they're honest they'll give it to you (assuming the accident was their fault).
