How do i know if one of my breast implants popped? Who is the authority on this? My teacher expects me to know this but I don`t have a clue.

The first sign in knowing if your implant has popped is that your breast in not so firm anymore. The best thing you can do is to go and see your surgeon, to remove the silicon from your body. I know that most clinics offer a guaranty for the breasts implants. If you don`t have one, you may wanna ask the clinic where you had the intervention. Also, ask if there are any rules that you have to be aware of when having implants. Ben Norrington

The implants are made very strong as the normal breasts these days.The shells around the implanted breast are very strong. Generally they fit better when planted under the muscle.One need to provide a large amount of force over the implanted breast to pop it out.Hence one will not come to know about the popping of implanted breast. i can not afford to have them removed or even replaced at the time. they are saline with a silicone shell. after 5 years. they deflated, and now the empty bags have been in there for 3 yrs. i plan on getting them removed and redone at the same time, opposed to getting the bags removed then later on having the augmentation again. so far there has been no infection but i am concerned about scar tissue around the empty bags getting thicker. does anyone know anything about this....thanks my docter is a 4 hour plane ride away.... when i called them.. they of course wanted me to come down and get them redone but without that kind of money i am unable to do so...

No, but wish I did. Call up the Dr. who did the procedure and ask him. That's the only way you will know for sure if there is a risk of infection etc.

i want to get breast implants, probably silicone under the muscle. how strong are they? will they pop if my boyfriend lays on me (he's around 180 lbs) or if i lay on my stomach or do something rough with them? i know this question sounds funny, but i don't know the answer lol.

Can implants rupture? Sure. Can implants rupture because someone lays on top of you? No way. The shells that surround implants these days are very strong. If you're going to get silicone, it doesn't really matter all that much if they do rupture because modern silicone implants are cohesive silicone rather than liquid silicone (imagine jello or a gummy bear rather than motor oil). Even if the implant shell ruptures, the silicone stays put within the scar capsule that your body form around it. Saline implants, if they rupture, leak the saline into the scar pocket and it gets reabsorbed, so those implants will deflate if ruptured and you'll need to replace them. Definitely go under the muscle with your implants. Implants placed above the muscle can obscure up to 40% of breast tissue on mammography and since 11% of women in the US will someday develop breast cancer and mammography is the current screening method of choice, you'll want the implant to be in a location that doesn't interfere with mammography. Plus, I personally think the implants sit better when they're under the muscle.

It depends. If it's silicone, that's bad news. If it was saline, then nothing; At least nothing immediately. Her body would absorb, process and expel the salt water. However, the casing would have to be dealt with in either case. She should have had her surgeon handle that immediately. You say this happened years ago? What the...? Who on earth would have an implant pop and just say, "Oh well!" and leave the remnants in there for years without ever seeing a doctor?!?

you can try to put those rubbery thing outside of your breat to make it look bigger if you get breast implants it wont be that bad if it ever pop you can always get them redone but the silicon are made out of very c good quality silicone so you shouldn't be worry

you can't, i doubt it actually popped, and if it did, then she probably didn't go to a very good doctor, silicon implants take a lot to break, anything short of a bullet won't pop them
