"Automatically inform your insurance company about the ticket and as a result the insurance..."

The car insurance company knows exactly that you have been fined and given the speeding ticket by the authorities. and remember that this process is done automatically because when the authorities give you the speeding ticket, they automatically inform your insurance company about the ticket and as a result the insurance company increases you monthly premiums. thanks

    This answer closely relates to:
    • Connecticut someone else s car insurance notified speeding
      • Will my insurance company automatically find out i got speeding ticket?
      • If i get a speeding ticket will my insurance company be notified?
      • Do i need to inform my insurance company because of a speeding ticket?

the car insurance company always know that when and what type of speeding ticket you had got from the authorities. this process is very simple because the authorities are liable to inform you insurance agency about your speeding ticket so that the insurance company also panelise you by increasing your monthly rates.

    Q. Will my new car insurance company find out i lied?
a unique (perhaps?) situation: i have a washington state driver's license. i got a speeding ticket two years ago in massachusetts (and paid it). i was driving someone else's car when i received the ticket. i now live in connecticut and am about to switch car insurance companies. given the multiple states i've mentioned above, how likely is it that a ct insurance agent will find out about my fairly recent ticket? thanks for your help!

"Driver registry and if massachusetts reported you ticket to them then the information is..."

There is a pretty good chance they will find out but that's not 100% guaranteed. There is a national driver registry and if Massachusetts reported you ticket to them then the information is available.r

    Q. Does my insurance go up after i get a ticket in someone else car? or the owner of the car insurance goes up?
i got pulled over for speeding and the officer never asked for the insurance card. since he didn't ask for the insurance card, does that mean my pay rate will be the same? or can the insurance company find out by the tag number? please inform me because this is my first time. thanks! also remember i was in someone else car.

"I asked her why my insurance never went up with state farm..."

I was pulled over for speeding & I was so worried my insurance would go up but it never did. I wanted to switch from State Farm to Allstate & when I called Allstate to get a quote it was outrageous. I asked why it would be so much and the woman I spoke with told me it was because of the ticket I received. I asked her why my insurance never went up with State Farm and she told me as long as I pay my insurance on time & my policy was never dropped State Farm wouldn't find out because they would have no reason to check for tickets since when I signed up for my policy I wasn't considered high risk. It's been 2 years since I got my ticket & my insurance has stayed the same. You will be fine.

    Q. What's the cheapest car insurance company you have found??
i just bought a new car--now comes full coverage & plates. it's a 2003 mazda w/ 18,000 miles. does the year or the mileage make insurance or plates higher? do they request tickets for the last 3 or 5 years? you have to have full coverage when making payments right? i'm thinking geico is the cheapest i've found so far?

"You must be honest because they will find out and back charge you the..."

    1. TRY PROGRESSIVE. 2. YES THE YEAR WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PRICE. 3. THE CITY AND ZIP CODE WILL MAKE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE AS WELL. 4. YES THEY WILL ASK ABOUT YOUR TICKETS AND YOU MUST BE HONEST BECAUSE THEY WILL FIND OUT AND BACK CHARGE YOU THE DIFFERENCE. 5. YES YOU HAVE TO HAVE FULL COVERAGE WHILE MAKING PAYMENTS.

    Q. What happens if you don't have car insurance?
my friend got a speeding ticket in the state of kansas she has an automatic payments set up with her bank and the car insurance company , she thought it was being payed the whole time come to find out it was'nt , she got a speeding ticket and did'nt have car insurance , what is the fine for that ?

if she can bring proof to the judge that she acted in good faith by depending on the bank to make automatic deductions, the judge may dismiss the case or at least go easy on her. this wont work if this has gone on so long that a reasonable person should have noticed the problem.

    Q. Car insurance question?
i got a ticket 3 years ago. i just got one recently around february. my car insurance will get renewed around august. when they renew my insurance and they estimate the new amount for my car insurance, will they find out about my recent ticket? i know the past one from 3 years ago will get dropped off since car insurance companies dont count tickets from 3 years ago, but will the one that i had from this year get counted into the new estimate this year? i'm almost 30, so i dont know if that affects me =) and my insurance company is progressive. i asked them if my last ticket will get dropped off since its been 3 years and they confirmed that it will. i just didnt mention the recent one hehe yes so much better! thank you so much for your expertise, i will definitely choose you as best answer once i wait 24 hours.

"Most companies don't order one at every renewal..."

Added: Progressive? Probably won't dog your MVR and since you're over 25, you should probably see a reduction in your premium, that is if you haven't bought a newer car which will cause your Comp/Collision premium to increase. Feel better? ;) This is my profession, so I'll give an answer. They may not "find out" unless they order a report from your state called a MVR (motor vehicle report). Most companies don't order one at every renewal, but yours may, if you're unlucky, and if it's been a while since they got one, it's quite possible they'll get one this time, especially since you have a "record", and you're probably under 21. Also you should know some companies have a 5 year "experience period", so your other ticket may still be chargable. Slow down, K? ;)

    Q. I got a traffic ticket on my motorcycle. will my car insurance go up?
i live in north carolina. my motorcycle insurance is with geico. my car insurance is with nationwide. the ticket was for "passing on the right". assuming i am found guilty in court and receive a point on my license, will it just be my motorcycle insurance that goes up? or will it be my car insurance? i was told that there is now a law in nc that prevents insurance companies from double penalizing motorists for a ticket, meaning that one insurance company cant penalize you for higher car insurance if your motorcycle insurance company already has, and vice versa. could someone explain this to me? what's going to happen to me? check my stats, i always select the best answer.

defend yourself in court and you will be gravy baby.

    Q. (crap! ugh i'm so angry w/ myself) car insurance & tickets in ca?
i had no idea really what a mess i'd be in today because of a stupid accident that happened back in 08. even the person i hit thought wasn't worth the fuss then, so imagine now (almost two years later!) the accident couldn't even be put on me because it was like a "minor tap," so the cops found a way to get me on "reckless" driving of 5mph, 5! and i was parking! ugh. okay enough ranting, the point is that the mishap was honestly due like 70% in part because of the police, and when i went to my driver instructor, he even advised me to fight the ticket and not to take the course. so i did, and whop dee freaking do, the cops won. well i thought that was the last of that until today, for you see, i was to ignorant enough to realize that yes, the points on your record fade after 18 months, but that insurance companies hold onto the ticket itself for ages it! or so it seems... so, is there anyway possible to take a driver's class or something for it? i feel like punching myself and my instructor after i found out that when i first got my license at 16, all i had to pay was about $400 to be added onto my dad's comp, to now, being 19 years old and after having a clean record for two years, forced to pay about $3,700, no matter what. that sucks ass! ugh. yesh i know, at the end of the day, everything is always the drivers, or my fault. it just sucks that for me, something so silly, cost me so much. heres what happened. the cops supposedly pulled me over & followed me because of the fact that *my dad's car had tinted windows and i was "suspicious." my friend, who happens to be in some police academy program, said that, that was a lie. they stake out near by there (she lives there) and that they were probably never following me. which i agree since i always check my rear mirror and i notice cops, no matter what. anyways, i parked, realized i was a bit crooked and wanted to fix it so upon backing up, the cops not only flashed thier siren, flashed thier lights, but started shouting too. of course i freak'n panicked because i never saw it coming (the law had just been changed about two moths on the passenger and driver window tint and my father nor i realized it) so fearing that i didn't want to hit the cops i switched into drive - and tried to press on the brake; failed. pressed the gas and the car roared forward, i manged to slam on the brakes. a woman, who was parked in an emergency fire spot, was backing up and the rest is history. this was at night too> the one thing that pisses me off if the woman didn't even get a ticket for illegally parking there. ugh. anyway thats the honest to go story. yes my errors, but its like jumping in front of someone with a gun, of course you won't know how they are going to react. still don't understand why they couldn't let me finish parking and then do what they did. * yes, before anyone asks, dad got the tinted windows removed

    "You hit someone's car..."

    1. Reckless driving can happen at 1mph. Actual speed has nothing to do with whether you're driving poorly or not. 2. Whether it was a "minor tap" or not, you hit someone's car. Which is an accident. Which means it CAN be put on you. So that's totally pointless to even try to fight. And since you already tried not taking the course, and lost, no, you can't take a class at this point. Good job. Next time accept your mistakes, instead of trying to fight things.
