Q. How can i put a cap over the bed of a 2009 extended cab chevy colorado? i was looking into buying a brand new chevy colorado as an alternative fuel vehicle. where can i get a cap for the bed of this truck?
to the guy who is going to tell me that i'm promoting global warming or killing trees or something...i'm going to buy the hydrogen conversion kit from united nuclear as soon as it launches. they say new chevys will be some of the first kits available.
Chevy dealers can get them as well as most truck customizers. Check online for toneau covers as well.

Q. Fastkey on the 2009 toyota corolla? i love the toyota corolla, but the one in the united states does not have fast key, and i know it’s an option in the australia models.
if i were to buy the car do you think it would be possible to simply purchase the equipment from an australia dealership and have the dealership here in the usa install it for me upon purchase of the vehicle? about how much would you guess they’d probably charge me?
They already have it here. It is the same Fastkey they've used on the Prius for a few years now. Just get the sensor and you're in. Just check the part numbers on it to be certain, but when I looked at it, it was the same as my Prius. Good Luck.

Q. Now that obama "owns" gm, will he manufacturer cars that are not only unprofitable, but vehicles we don't want? team obama's green vision for the economy will soon be crystal clear. with president obama in the driver's seat, we will get little green two-door cars that most folks won't want to buy.
even worse, united auto workers chief ron gettelfinger has made it plain that his powerful union won't let these cars be manufactured in low-cost nonunion plants overseas. the result? mr. obama's little green cars will be unprofitable, as well.

this is a commentary from the times. i cut a pasted a paragraph. so read the article.
If ObamaCons tell you "..If you dont want the car, then dont buy it!" Just remeind them how Obama and his ecoWhackos are going to FORCE us to buy them "for the good of cleaner air"! Forget about them being so small and UNSAFE!!

Q. How come critics say illegals do jobs americans want do ,is courthouse construction jobs americans want do? more than a quarter of the workers at the new duval county courthouse construction site provided false identification documents to the city, authorities said.
federal officials discovered about 100 fake documents after looking at the paperwork the city started collecting three weeks ago to crack down on arrests of undocumented workers.
the city was informed of the federal checks monday , the same day four more undocumented workers were arrested near the construction site, according to immigration officials.
nineteen illegal workers have been arrested in three incidents since september.
a top aide to mayor john peyton asked city attorneys monday to determine whether the continued problems could be considered a breach of contract by turner construction, the contractor on the $350 million project, or any of the firms hired by turner.
last month, the city made all of the 350 people listed as employees reapply for badges to work on the site. employees had to fill out an additional form, that the city keeps on file. if the worker is not a u.s. citizen, the city also keeps a copy of the documents the workers provide.
all paperwork is available for inspection by federal authorities, peyton spokeswoman misty skipper said.
skipper said the city expects to get the list of 100 illegal workers today and will give it to turner. turner must revoke all badges for those workers and permanently ban them from the project, or the city will find turner in breach of contract, according to a letter sent to the company monday.
“please know the city of jacksonville takes this issue very seriously and will not tolerate the hiring of undocumented or unqualified workers for any construction project in our community,” chief administrative officer alan mosley wrote.
the city also told turner it must meet with every subcontractor to ensure every worker has proper documentation.
turner vice president david reaves told the times-union on monday evening he would call back after a meeting. reaves did not, and he did not return further messages left at his office and on his cell phone.
the city’s contract with turner prohibits knowingly hiring undocumented workers and turner’s agreements with subcontractors contain the same language.
john parker, president of the north florida building and construction trades council, said what the city does from here on will show how committed it is to having legal workers on the project. and while parker said the news about the false documents confirms what he already knew, even he was surprised there were 100.
a border patrol agent was en route to a standard patrol at the downtown bus station when several hispanic men scattered after seeing the federal vehicle. the agent arrested four men, said danny conway, patrol agent in charge for border patrol in jacksonville.
neither city officials nor conway could say who the four men worked for.
the first 15 people arrested all worked for united forming, the subcontractor pouring concrete on the project.
construction on the courthouse began in may and is scheduled to be completed in summer 2012.
http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/2009-11-09/story/feds_100_workers_at_duval_courthouse_site_provide_fake_id_documents
To the person above me who claims to own their own construction business, I will bet that you do not have a contractors license, and that you cant hire LEGAL workers because you do not want to pay WORKERS COMP!!!
I find it amazing that while you post a lie about how you cant find proper LEGAL labor, the union does just fine in finding efficient and LEGAL labor, and union jobs pay very well.
Nice anti American attitude you have, where you get the biggest piece of the pie and leave everyone else to fight over scraps.

Q. My vehicle's gas pedal just got recalled by lexus/toyota, will this depreciate the value of my car? i received a notice in the mail that the gas pedal on my vehicle has been recalled. i was told that starting in january, i am supposed to take my vehicle into the dealership and they will "cut down" the gas pedal of my car as a "temporary fix" until the new gas pedals are dispersed in april.
is this going to depreciate the value of my car? even after the gas pedal is replaced?
[toyota plans to replace the gas pedals on 4 million vehicles in the united states because the pedals can get stuck in the floor mats and cause sudden acceleration, a flaw that led to the sixth-largest recall ever in the u.s.]
"the toyota recall came about after a high-speed crash in august involving a 2009 lexus es350 that killed a california highway patrol officer and three of his family members near san diego. the lexus accelerated to more than 120 mph, struck a sport utility vehicle, bounced off an embankment, rolled several times and burst into flames."
here is the article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091125/ap_on_bi_ge/us_toyota_floor_mats
No they will repair the issue free of charge.

Q. Do you have questions about the big 3 auto makers? the debate over aid to the detroit-based automakers is awash with half-truths and misrepresentations that are endlessly repeated by everyone from members of congress to journalists. here are six myths about the companies and their vehicles, and the reality in each case.
myth no. 1
nobody buys their vehicles.
reality
general motors corp., ford motor co. and chrysler llc sold 8.5 million vehicles in the united states last year and millions more around the world. gm outsold toyota by about 1.2 million vehicles in the united states last year and holds a u.s. lead over toyota of about 560,000 so far this year. globally, gm in 2007 remained the world's largest automaker, selling 9,369,524 vehicles worldwide -- about 3,000 more than toyota.
ford outsold honda by about 850,000 and nissan by more than 1.3 million vehicles in the united states last year.
chrysler sold more vehicles here than nissan and hyundai combined in 2007 and so far this year.
myth no. 2
they build unreliable junk.
reality
the creaky, leaky vehicles of the 1980s and '90s are long gone. consumer reports recently found that "ford's reliability is now on par with good japanese automakers." the independent j.d. power initial quality study scored buick, cadillac, chevrolet, ford, gmc, mercury, pontiac and lincoln brands' overall quality as high or higher than that of acura, audi, bmw, honda, nissan, scion, volkswagen and volvo.
power rated the chevrolet malibu the highest-quality midsize sedan. both the malibu and ford fusion scored better than the honda accord and toyota camry.
myth no. 3
they build gas-guzzlers.
reality
all of the detroit three build midsize sedans the environmental protection agency rates at 29-33 miles per gallon on the highway. the most fuel-efficient chevrolet malibu gets 33 m.p.g. on the highway, 2 m.p.g. better than the best honda accord. the most fuel-efficient ford focus has the same highway fuel economy ratings as the most efficient toyota corolla. the most fuel-efficient chevrolet cobalt has the same city fuel economy and better highway fuel economy than the most efficient non-hybrid honda civic. a recent study by edmunds.com found that the chevrolet aveo subcompact is the least expensive car to buy and operate.
myth no. 4
they already got a $25-billion bailout.
reality
none of that money has been lent out and may not be for more than a year. in addition, it can, by law, be used only to invest in future vehicles and technology, so it has no effect on the shortage of operating cash the companies face because of the economic slowdown that's killing them now.
myth no. 5
gm, ford and chrysler are idiots for investing in pickups and suvs.
reality
the domestic companies' lineup has been truck-heavy, but toyota, nissan, mercedes-benz and bmw have all spent billions of dollars on pickups and suvs because trucks are a large and historically profitable part of the auto industry. the most fuel-efficient full-size pickups from gm, ford and chrysler all have higher epa fuel economy ratings than toyota and nissan's full-size pickups.
myth no. 6
they don't build hybrids.
reality
the detroit three got into the hybrid business late, but ford and gm each now offers more hybrid models than honda or nissan, with several more due to hit the road in early 2009.

people working for the foreign car makers,ie: honda, camry, toyota etc.. in canada and the united states makes the same wage as those working for the big 3 automakers.
60% of parts made for foreign cars are made in the same factory that also supplies the big 3. if the big 3 go down so will the part companys.
the foriegn automakers are struggling too, toyato has asked and recieved help from the japanese goverment, the european goverment have also given money to their auto sector.
the many problem is that the foreign market is not opened to north american investement. they can flood our market but we are not allowed into their market.
as for the greed of the union workers, why are they being blamed for making a decent wage, they have given up so much already. in canada alone the caw has given concessions that will save $900 million dollars over the next 3 years. they are working longer hours, have given up benifits and get laid off for weeks when it's not going good. but the bosses still get huge bonuses they should be asked to get their salaries but no bonuses until the auto sector is back on it's feet.
i haven't heard of any bank tellers being asked to take a cut in pay for the banks bail out. and i wouldn't want them too.
Yes I Do.
Please Correct Me If Im Wrong.

Q. Can you name four or more myths about the american auto industry? here are a few misconceptions, cleared up.
you can read albom’s column at www.freep.com/article/20081123/col01/811...
detroit free press exposes six myths about domestic automakers
the november 17, 2008, issue of the detroit free press ran an interesting article about six domestic automaker myths that linger in the minds of consumers:

this info was excerpted from a much longer email that is too big for ay.com peace.
1. They are too big to fail
2. The rates they pay to labor are competitive
3. They should be bailed out at the expense of better competitors.
4. They are not a prime candidate for a Chapter 11 reorganization.
