Hi, please help! Bills are pilling up. Need an idea. In sc I was hit by a drunk driver while crossing the street. Taken to e.r. By ambulance at scene. I broke my foot in 3places, had soft tissue damage to my back. It has been 7 months, and I just finished physical therapy, but have not gone back to work because I am a dancer. I am still in pain everyday and will have issues for life. I have no medical coverage and have had to pay a lot out of pocket and family has helped me pay my rent and other household payments. I have two kids and I need a good settlement to give back all the money I have been borrowing. Since I finished therapy, we are getting ready to contact insurance company and start process. The guys policy with geico says max 50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident. Honestly, what can I expect to get? At least a rounded idea? I am out of family members I can borrow from and need anyone who has been in a similar situation,and the best educated response that can be given. I need some hope . Thank you in advance ;).

I have the same problem from an accident that happened in October, plus 2 bulging disks. From what I`ve gathered doing research into this it`s between $175,000 to around $300,000. The insurance Company that is going to have to settle with me is State Farm. They like to play hardball so it might take me awhile to get it. From what I read about them is they like to push you off right until your about to go to court. Good luck to you my friend. Michael

They probably use .22 because they fear over penetration, which would lower the price of the hide a bit. In my experience, .22s tend to fragment and send shrapnel back at me. And a .22 won`t really go through the skull plate. With that you have to target the back of the head which means you`re going for the spine, instead of the brain. Also, sometimes the gators are only knocked out and come back to life later. Personally I use a 9mm, it`ll go through the skull plate with ease and doesn`t punch all the way through the gator to often. Next year going to try .40 cal flat tip FMJ, in the hopes of eliminating the occasional over penetration. Best shell for killing gators is .410 low brass. Rolls them dead, one shot every time. They never come back to life in the boat after a load of .410 to the dome. Unfortunately we not allowed to use shotguns anymore, and that includes the Judge. For longer range shots we used to go with a 12GA 00 buck which worked well but now we roll with a .270 rifle. Source: alligator fishermen, Terrebonne Parish Louisiana
