Just follow these steps to put your mp 250 printer in service mode: 1 unplug the printer from the power source 2 press and -hold- the POWER button 3 keep holding while reconnecting the mains power cord 4 when the power led turns on press one time on the RESUME button 5 finally release the POWER button There you go! OK ppl i found the answer to this problem. i love my canon MP250 printer. ink levels gets released if you do this. once your ink level runs out and you get the warning that ink is empty. and your only option is to cancel printing. do this: hold down your reset button for 5 or more seconds. this will releas your pc from detectiong ink levels for that cartrige. same works for black and color cartrige. you wont get any ink levels but hey you can refill the cartriges and print. just watch your print outs for ink thats getting finished. and thats it. if you read your warning message that your PC gives you for a empty cartrige it actually explains what i just said. if any one knows how to reset the software to show you how much ink is in the refilled cartrige. please let me know. JUST BY THE WAY MPTOOL DOES NOT WORK FOR CANON MP250. SO DONT WAIST YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING THAT SOFTWARE. please give me feed back to my answer.

Actually, the easiest way is to replace canon printer cartridges color, but there are other ways, namely, How Reset Canon PIXMA MP 250 error 5200: •The printer is turned off and plugged the power cord. •Press the button STOP / RESET and hold, then press and hold the POWER button. •POWER button is pressed, release the STOP / RESET, then press the STOP / RESET 2 times in a state of the power button is pressed. •Release both buttons simultaneously. •The printer will proceed in a while (a while), then the LCD panel will show the number zero (0) •The computer will detect NEW DEVICE, Ignore it ….. •Press the power button, then the printer will die. •Press the power button again, then the printer will be lit and ready for use. If the power cable unplugged, then the above steps must be repeated again. Good luck,

error p08 is wasted ink full reset the printer press reset button and hold then press on relase and press twice reset button is now in maintenance mode to reset wasted pad ink press 4 times the reset button then turn the printer button on/off sorry my english

The reset button on a canon mp250 printer is used to reset the printer after refilling the ink cartridges . It can be identified as a small button having a red circle with a triangle in it and 2 black slash lines up above it. Jack Sullivan

 

canon 5200 error code cleared up real easy for me... WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE THE ERROR.... I ran my color down to nil and bought a new black ink and the store was out of color at the time... thought maybe I could USE my printer without the a new color ink. AND!! the 5200 error P 08 popped up... WAY to FIX it? ... GOT the color ink loaded it and NOW NO ERROR. I think it is just saying.. that I couldn`t use the printer without both inks readable and available. Cleared up all on its own. AND the manual has nothing to say about 5200 error. It was a gamble cuz when I saw the error and that it needed service... I didn`t want to spend the $$$ on the color ink... if the printer needed expensive service... Where I live the INK cost almost as much as another printer!
