I also have the Canon mp560 printer, which takes the 220 and 221 ink cartridges. Okay, so first of all...I tried the reset method mentioned above with a few changes after getting my printer cartridges filled by syringe at a small retail store...and IT WORKED! However, the store clerk informed that the ink levels read by my computer will NOT reset when the refilled cartridges are reinstalled. Anyway, 1st: Turn on your printer and reinstall the ink cartridges. 2nd: Turn on your computer and bring something up to print. 3rd: Press print on the computer, and once your printer says "processing" press the stop/cancel button AND HOLD IT DOWN for 10 seconds. 4th: The printer will cancel that initial printing job and spit the paper out, but don`t fret just yet! 5th: Go back on your computer and attempt to print the document a second time. This time, your computer will tell you are running low on ink, but it will continue automatically and print your chose document job successfully! I hope these more detailed instructions will help people out there...good luck!

I figured it out!!! Take the RFID chip out find the black square on the front about 3/16 by 3/16 of an inch. Find the 2 wires in the board that complete the connection between that square and use a knife on the chip to break the connection between both sides of the square. Your printer should then show the black ink is full. It has worked for me for awile now. I thought i would pass it on to save you all some money. REFILL the ink don`t buy new.

Take your spent 100XL cartridge. Peel back the sticker that runs the length of the cartridge. There is a metal chip under the label. Pop out the chip with a razor blade or something, do the same for the 105XL cartridge. Put he 100XL chip in the 105XL cartridge -- make sure the chip is seated correctly. There is a bump on one side of the bottom of the chip that matches with an indentation on the cartridge. When the chip is seated comfortably, put the sticer back. Voila. At first, for me the chip was not seated propertly and my printer (Lexmark Pro205) told me the black cartridge was missing. I reseated the chip (like above) and the printer is working (at this time, I have only done a test print).

If you have the HP 6500, you might try (on the control panel of the printer itself) press the setup button, select Preferences then select Cartridge Chip info, press the 1 key on the number key pad (on the printer itself) that will turn of the usage information collection. Although you probably will lose the cartridge levels info, at least you can refill the cartridges and they should work. I hope this helps, it did for me.
