Which is better avira or norton? My boss asked me this the other day but I didn`t know. Searching the internet hasn`t helped me so please post.

A lot of people always ask about which is the best antivirus (avira, norton, kaspersky, nod32,...) but there is always one answer ??? can`t help you. If you asked me which better I`ll tell you that avira or norton both need to be updated. But I think norton is surly better than avira. It`s enough that Yahoo relay on norton for scanning their E-mail messages.

Every program you mentioned is superb except for Norton. ESET uses little system resources and is very fast, though its interface may confuse novices. Kaspersky definitely belongs to top5 major antivirur programs, it boasts to provide hourly updates. Avira is superb especially if you want to protect 3 PC's with one key. Don't buy Avira Professional though, it's not for home users. Get Premium. BitDefender is cool, but I prefer pure Antivirus instead of Security Suite. It's beyond my comprehension why so many people claim to love Norton.

When i have a question abt a anti-spyware software i always visit: <--http://toptenantispywareviews.com/ there they have listed allmost all the softwares, their features, and comparisions to other related substitutes the best anti-spyware i av seen yet is webroot spyware. its lite and really fast plus very effective. first in topten list of above site. u can get all of its features on the site. have a nice NO spyware day!

In the order asked...oh, and please don't shout at me...I can read just fine...Depends on whom you ask (and who's paid them for their opinion), me? I'll say a firm "maybe." And...HELL no... I don't know much about Avira, but I do know that the free version Avast! is good for use as a one-off scan, and not much else. I've heard that Avira is decent ... for a free program (and that ain't saying much). Think about it this way. Who do you want to insure your car? Some guy that offers you a $1 a week premium but no contract (i.e.: nothing in writing), or the major firm that is going to charge you $200 a month, but offers full replacement/repair and offers a replacement while your car is in the shop...all in writing? Norton is an excellent company (and if you're using 360, is an excellent suite)...and it costs less than one Starbucks coffee a week over the 1 year lifetime of the subscription. What's more, it now offers multiple PC protection, so you and 2 to 4 of your friends can pitch in, and buy one copy, and each use one of the 3-5 Product Keys for the entire suite (my AVS solution from Computer Associates gives 5 keys for the high-end suite). So, if Symantic offers 5 product keys with 360 for $80, that's $16 each for you and 4 of your friends/family members. Good Luck!

I would say it is Kaspersky. If you are using internet there is a risk to be attacked by the Trojans and malicious programs. Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is the best to get rid of them. But what ever the antivirus you use you must be updated all the time. Take in mind that almost all the antivirus makes your pc's performance down into some extend. Because they have to run simultaneously with the other programs to detect the virus.

Norton Security Suite because it combines all security features (Spyware checking, email checking, firewall, etc) into one program. I know from experience that Norton is very good and I have been using it for years. I think you should try it out.

Avira was judged Anti-Virus of the Year 2008 by http://www.av-comparatives.org Norton 2009 is reckoned to be very good but a lot of Norton users on YA! have a big problem with Trojan.Brisv.A!inf Norton finds it but can't remove it.
