ok so im 15 and i pierced my belly button by myself. i did it last monday and it is 6 days old. at 1st it was very red and very painful and bruised. im washing it with antibacterial soap 2 times a day and im doing the saltwater bath 2 times a day too. around the hole it was very crusty and dark red and blue but its gotten alot better. until this morn it was still crusty. i took a shower and the rim of it was white and gooie. i washed it off and i took off the white gooie stuff i think i took off the skin by accident i thought it was crust of puss. im very scared of an infection because my mom doesnt know i have it and ill be in alot of trouble. ever since i took off the white stuff it feels a lot looser and its been leaking clear fluid do u think its infected? what should i do please help

Yes it is completely normal, brusing is part of the healing process, so theres no need to worry about it, i had mine done about a week ago and I got worried about the same things and I asked some of my friends (Who also got theres done) and they all told me that is what happened to theirs it is perfectly normal and it will start to fade. That is gas bubbles It usually happens when you keep from eating when you should. That happens to me if I skip breakfast and eat around 1

Heyl im 13 and I had my friend peirce mine in my room last friday. (and my mom doesnt know either.) But its getting red and crusty around the top and bottom holes =/ ..... Im just really hoping it will get better and its not infected. So we pretty much have the same problem.

Well if you play or torture you bellybutton it could become irritated. Now if you pirce it without cleaning your bellybutton or bellybutton ring or torture instrument ex: thumbtack or needle your navel could be infected. I recommend cleaning it with alcohol or get a cup of warm water and put Epsom or seasalt in the cup about a teaspoon then stir. Put the cup on your navel for about 15 to. 20 min but make sure there is a suction in the cup.
