If a person has a really bad chest pain in the middle of the chest , then may be the person has chest infection or muscles cramp .It is also possible that there is some heart related problem . The person should consult with a doctor . Take care .

The substernum pain could either be due to cardiac or pulmonary problem.but based on the clinical manifestations you mentioned,you're having a pulmonary infection but not Embolism.Why not do chest X-ray?to determine the exact underlying cause of the chest pains.

I'm seriously hoping your full of crap and posted this to yank somebody's chain. If you didn't you get to get to an ER quick and make sure you aren't having a heart attack. The longer the symptoms continue the more damage is done to your heart and it will eventually lead to cardiac arrest.

This has happened to me before, and I've researched online that these chest pains are common in teenagers, and that a majority of the time, doctors evaluate the cause to be unknown. I highly suspect that some cases might be caused by the chest muscles. Soreness can be felt especially during exhalations, as the diaphragm beneath your ribcage expands and puts pressure on those muscles. This seems to fit your location of pain. You should still visit a doctor to be sure there aren't any other causes. Be sure to explain what kind of pain it is, whether it's stabbing, or dull, or soreness. But don't worry, this exact same thing has happened to me, and it doesn't happen anymore. I used to get this really sharp pain in my chest whenever I took too deep a breath or exhaled to much.

Best thing you can do is take your boyfriend to the doctors and get a check up. I doubt it's cancer very much. You have heartburn. Take a rennie. If you are getting weird sensations down your arms, ring your Dr. Ps heartburn can be REALLY painful. Try ranitidine also and gaviscon. I get it all the time :) If it goes on for longet than 1 week, see your Dr.
