Q. Regarding refilling a cannon ip 1600 pixma printers ink cartage's? regarding refilling a cannon ip 1600 pixma printers ink cartage's?
i have a refill kit that i've had for a while now. the problem i have is the instructions don't cover this new printers ink refilling. i don't want to experiment with trying to pry off the top. does anyone know how to do it?
the refill kit is a stratitec premium series inkjet refill kit. it works with all 3 4, & 6 color printors
cannon:
pg - 40 black
cl - 41 color
(just to let you know that i was getting really good at refilling my old cartage's and replacing that computor was enough of a pain in the butt that if i can learn how to fill this printors (cartage's) it would not make my day, but it would be a small victory at least!)

On the top of the cartridge is there a little hole? That's where the ink goes. The kit should of come with a little round ball as well? You put the little round ball in hole after refilling. You don't have to pry off top. Just the hole part, if that makes any sense at all. Good luck.
Q. Help! cannon pixma mp170 check ink u051 error after refilling cartridges? i refilled my cartridges but the printer doesn't actualize my ink levels. it prints but missing colors. what can i do? do i have to reset the printer? how? does anybody have the code?

there is no way to reset the ink levels (that my store knows of, at least), on the new canon cartridges. you need to turn off the ink status monitor :(
sorry i wasn't more helpful, but i have to do the same thing at home on my mp500.
you'll know it's time to refill again when your printing starts to fade, streak, or discolour.

It is a pad that absorbs all the ink that the printer uses to run cleaning cycles and the like and that then has to go somewhere. That somewhere is the waste ink tank.
You have to change the pad and use a reset code or else the message will keep displaying and the printer stops working.

Are you asking how you can clean it without running the cleaning cycles? I have heard of "cleaning cartridges" for Canon printers, but I have not seen them for sale anywhere for a long time. They were not made by Canon and I'm not sure if they ever worked, but that is the only alternative I've ever heard of for cleaning the nozzles in the printer. Otherwise, you would have to take it to some repair shop to get it cleaned, and if it comes to that you might as well buy a new printer. It's probably not a good idea to try to clean it by hand yourself, since there really isn't any easy way to do it and because some printers can have some pretty fragile inner parts.

Q. My cannon ink cartrudige isnt working can anyone help ? ok i brought a connon coloured ink cartudrige 41 its worked perfectly and is fine , however i also purchased a black one this one was a tesco make but specially designed for cannon printers 40 pixma - its saying that the cartrige isnt loaded but it is and isnt working please can anyone help ?

the printer tries to print something and then the paper goes right through at high velocity with no ink on it at all!

This is a common fault with Pixma 630. It is probably due to a bad connection from your P C.
I am an Ex Cannon Eng. Have serviced many of these. Carry out Error Code 6000 a couple of times. Check P C connections. If problem still exists, get onto to Cannon Service Dept. or Store. Ask for manager - explain problem. Do not be fobbed off - there is an inherent fault. Quote Cannon Service Manula Index AFZ. They will know what you mean. If you have only had the Pixma for a few months, you will get a free replacement.
