I would say weekdays! Because it's a weekend thing to do for the locals and people that live somewhat close. And it gets busy. I think you'd be pretty content to stay there about 10 hours. There's alot of attractions, casino during nightlife, Bird Kingdom, The Journey Behind The Falls, Skylon Tower, during daytime. Enjoy your stay! Ps: There's also so much to do for the kids, haunted houses, arcade etc.

The spring and summer months are always good times to plan a visit to the beautiful Niagara Falls . May should be nice. You might want to bring a sweatshirt, it might be cool especially in the evening. If you are traveling by car, you don't need a passport. Just make sure that you have your Driver's License or State ID and a copy of your birth certificate. (They have never asked for mine when we've crossed the border, but better to have it just in case.) I hope that this helps answer your question!

Go in July or August. You can fly into the Buffalo, NY airport and rent a car, or fly into the Toronto Caanda airport and rent a car and have a little longer drive (about 1&1/2 hrs). Regardless of which, stay on the Canadian side. There are more motels and things to do on the Canada side. You don't need to get a hotel overlooking the falls, they are really expensive. But, you can stay a couple blocks away from the falls for a good price on Stanley Avenue and Murray Street. You can find more motels a little further away on Lundy Lane, but you have to drive to the falls from them.

The Jet Boat is a GREAT trip. There are coupons on-line, so don't ever pay full price. I hate to say it, but weekends when it is warm is when everyone ELSE wants to come as well. July 4th is a very busy week. As one idea, The 2008 Taste of Buffalo will be held on July 12th and 13th, 2008. The Taste of Buffalo is one of the nation's largest food festivals and attracts more than 450,000 people annually to the event--and is fun by the forkful. This means less tourists in Niagara Falls - more will be at Taste of Buffalo.

Summer - definitely :) when the water reflects the sun. its beautiful! "be like the flowing river, silent in the night. be not afraid of the dark. if there are stars in the sky, reflect them back. if there are clouds in the sky, remembere clouds like the river, are water, so gladly reflect them too, in your own tranquil depths"

Having traveled to Niagara Falls numerous times between May and September, I have to say the best experience overall were trips taken in September after Labor Day. Most lodging prices lower by at least 25%, lines for most attractions are non-existent (meaning that you can get more done in the same amount of time) and the temperature is still warm enough to comfortably get around but not summertime scorching hot. The Table Rock complex this summer finished up a renovation and expansion for its falls views and is also the site of the Journey Behind the Falls attraction and the new Niagara's Fury attraction. Anybody who goes to Niagara Falls has to ride on The Maid of The Mist at least once. I would add a mention for Marineland, the Butterfly Conservatory and Bird Kingdom. Each furthers the nature theme set by the falls in their own way. If that ever did get boring for you, the thrill rides at Marineland would definitely wake you up. How about eating a meal up in either of the Skylon Tower's windowed restaurants before or after visiting the observation deck? The meals in the Revolving Dining room start at $26 for lunch and $40 for dinner. The Summit Suite Dining Room's lunch buffet is $28 and the dinner buffet is $35-$40. However, you're there more for the spectacle and the surroundings. All prices include a free visit to the observation deck. Clifton Hill describes itself as "The Avenue of Fun" at Niagara Falls. It has many attractions, shops and restaurants. Some of my favorite stops would be the SkyWheel, the Great Canadian Midway, the Guinness Book of World Records museum and the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. Nearby or inside either of the city's two main casinos, you'll find more to do. I enjoyed the Teslatron and the Canadian Mounties shop at Fallsview. It's a short walking distance to the Skylon Tower, the IMAX Theatre, the Daredevil Gallery and an official National Geographic store. Casino Niagara is a short walking distance from an official Coca-Cola store (complete with a full-service ice cream Coke fountain), an official Hershey Chocolate store, the Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Clifton Hill. Both casinos and areas have much more than the highlights I listed.

But is there anything else you'd like to do while you are here? The Botanical Gardens are not that far away, Brock's Monument and Old Fort Erie are nearby for visits. There is the Erie Canal and Lockport ship lock that demonstrates part of the St. Lawrence Seaway system. Maybe take a trip to a nearby Niagara Peninsula vineyard for a wine tasting and tour? If you want to explore any other surrounding areas, you may want to give yourself more time.

We were just up there this past May, we planned it so that the last night there (we spent a week traveling around Ontario) was the first night they were doing the fireworks over the falls. We book one of the very high end rooms with full view of the falls. The lights were dancing on the falls and the fireworks were overhead... very romantic and very beautiful. The restaurant in the hotel was use on Lost when the older man proposes to the lady who said she had breast cancer... beautiful. I will say... do not waste your money on the Casinos - but do use the Casinos to exchange money - they have better rates.
