is there any reason i cannot use my canon ink refill pack on an hp printer? i have about $5 dollars worth of refill ink that i inject inot my old canon printer ink cartiges. my canon printer died. i have a new hp. already out of ink on th hp and am thinking of injecting the canon ink? any major reason why i cannot do this?

i have done it before, as long as you are just using it for letters, homework, etc, it is ok, but your pictures don't come out as good

i guess i need to reset the chips on my ink cartridges for my canon pixma ip 4200 series printer. i refilled it and it does not work. however i can only find epsom chip resetters. does a canon chip resetter exist yet? is this infact what i need to be able to refill my ink cartridges? i am so aggravated by this as my stupid printer will not even let me print out anything in black and white until the magenta ink tank is replaced.. even though it is refilled. what a scam!

Although now that I'm seeing the types of questions that you're asking, I can see that you are getting into things that only three geeks would be inclined to give you an answer to. However I can tell you that No, a Cannon Chip resetter does not exist. You're talking about Cannon after all. They're not interested in you saving money but in you spending top dollar for everything that you want with the Cannon name. They are no longer 'top of the line' where it comes to electronics. In fact I would rate them 'welfare of the line' if anything. I've dealt with them and I'm not going to bore you with the details, but you'd be better of with something else. I won't give product endorsements but I will tell you that Cannon isn't interested in making technology easy or intelligent for the user.

Try this: 1. Turn off the printer 2. Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click “Power”) an indicator light green. 3. Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button. 4. Not releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” and release Both Buttons. 5. Click “Resume” for Four times 6. Once you click “Power”, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer “Power” button to click again. If that doesn't work, then try changing the printer setup as below. Case 1) When the window of “Ink is running low” appears. - Click the ‘OK’ or ‘out of paper’ button on your printer - When the window of ‘Ink has run out’ appears, follow the procedures ‘Case 2’ below. Case 2) When the window of “Ink has run out” appears. - Click the ‘Yes’ button on the window. - When the massage of “Press and hold the ‘Stop/ Reset’ button….” appears, press and hold the ‘Stop/ Reset’ or ‘out of paper’ button on your printer for 10 seconds. Before using the printer, run the “head cleaning” process. 𐁘 Warning: The level warning system of the refilled cartridge will be deactivated permanently. Refill the cartridge only when the print quality begins to deteriorate and the cartridge is actually out of ink. If you keep on printing

i bought a refill kit at the drug store and refilled my canon mp470. when i try to print it doesn't come out well and the printer still says ink is low. i tried all the cleaing optoins on the printer and it still isnt workig properly. please help me!

Hi, The reason your print quality is bad is because with refill kits you do not clean out the cartridge. There is still old dry ink inside as well as the ink they gave you probably is a universal ink. This ink is not specifically designed for you printer. The reason your printer says the ink is low is because you have not replaced the chip in the cartridge either. Your best bet is to buy a remanufactured cartridge that has been cleaned and rechipped. Your printer still may not recognize it, but the print quality will be a lot better. Just be careful that you buy a good quality remanufactured or genuine canon cartridges. i accidentally bought canon ink instead of hp ink. i want to refill my printer with this ink. is it a problem? can anything go wrong or will it work the same?

The only problem there could be is the colours are not the same. Each printer manufactures makes each colour slightly different to another manufacturer using the same colour. If HP's inks are different colours then you may notice that your print outs are not the same using the Canon ink. Apart from that, it should be fine.

Q. How to refill a color ink in a canon printer?
in my canon printer there are 3 holes where i have to inject the 3 colors; magenta; cyan & yellow. i am confuse if in which holes should i inject the magenta; cyan & yellow color. i tried once to inject/refill my canon cartridge but to my disgust i didnt make the right thing.when i use my printer the color of the ink did not match the font color.pls. help me

Look into the hole. The colour you see is the colour you inject. Keep in mind that not all inks are created equal, so if the ink you are refilling with is a universal fill kit - the colours are going to be off. Each printer mixes colours different and therefore have different shades of ink. Also if you put too much ink in the cartridge the ink will floos resulting in colours printing improperly.
