You may have some type of stomach or colon problem. Don't start thinking about serious illness until you are told it is serious. Your symptons are vague and could be anything.

Tonsillitis is not a reason to have your tonsils removed. Unless it is chronic or repeated and affects your overall health. You probably need a throat culture if you need to have it diagnosed.

Q. Can a cold sore in your nose be contagious during oral sex?
the cold sore is inside my nose, which obviously wouldn't be touching anything on my boyfriend, but would the cold sore make my saliva contagious, or if i put it in my mouth, will i infect my boyfriend? there is not a cold sore on my mouth or throat. i just dont know if it being inside my nose, away from being touched, could still be a problem.

First of all, I did not know you could get cold sores in your nose. How did that come about? That being said, cold sores are herpes, and your nose, throat, and mouth are all connected. Fluids (snot) inside of your nose can run down your throat, which is right at the back of your mouth. And spit is all over your mouth, and moving around in your mouth when you perform oral. So, it's kinda gross, but I would think it is entirely possible. There are also certain stages of when the herpes is contagious, however, I don't remember what they are at the moment. Look it up 'herpes' in Wikipedia. I would avoid it. You don't want to take that chance, because I'm sure it's not fun to have genital herpes, and if he gets it and you stay together, you wil lend up having it, too. So definately please be cautious. And I'm just saying that it's possible, your doctor can probably give you a way more correct answer than I can. Good luck.

i do sometimes get sore breasts prior to my period but never this sore, what can i do to alleviate this swollen painful feeling? getting a test tomorrow from the pharmacy just to see but ouch i'm really sore, is this normal, in either situation?

Many women suffer from sore breasts pre-period. The medical term for this is cyclic mastalgia. It is one of the situations where a herbal remedy has been shown to be of some benefit in some studies, but not all. Evening primrose, ( epogram ) or more correctly its active ingredient Gamolenic acid ( Sometimes Gamma-Linolenic,) has been used with some success, though the dose does need to be quite high. You need at least 90mgs of GLA twice daily. It should not be taken in pregnancy, so you would need to confirm that you are not pregnant first.

Q. How does one handle sore throat at home before seeing a doctor?
i have sore throat which is really painful with headache but i have managed to control the headache with motrin but the sore throat is still a problem. are there some things one can do to sooth and control the pain of sore throat?

Gargle with very, very salty warm water Chloraseptic sprays or drops actually contain an ingredient similar to the novacaine that your dentist uses to numb your teeth for dental work. It numbs on contact and is very effective. Throat coat tea - available in the tea section, or if your pharmacy has a homeopthic section, you could find ti there. It's a "Natural Remedies" tea. Has a strong licorice flavor. My kids love it. Just don't take it after the Chloraseptic or you will be rinsing away all the numbing stuff. ;) If you are running a fever, consider going to have a culture done to check for strep. If it is strep, antibiotics will take care of the pain quickly! Hope you are feeling better!

Q. How to prevent a cold sore outbreak from sunlight?
i love the summer but the only thing that ruins it for me is that when the suns out and its nice and hot it tends to trigger an outbreak of cold sores! can anyone recommend a way to protect my lips from the sunlight? and to try to prevent a cold sore? do not recommend me any creams specifically for cold sores because they never work for me, if anything they make them worse.

I personally know that I get cold sores when I either get cuts on my mouth area or when the area is dry, often caused by the sunlight drying my skin up. I've found that putting some moisturiser on, usually those that also have sun protection in them too. I also have a lip balm with sun protection. I have seen a reduction in the amount of cold sores that I suffer from. Also, a little tip that I have found. I had always suffered from big ugly scabby cold sore and I had tried every trick in the book from popping them, icing, bleach, nail polish remover the lot. I've tried every single cream and they do not work for me. However, now as soon as I get either that little bit of dry skin that I usually get before I get a cold sore or when I've woke up with that little red bump I put Sudocrem on it. I tried it once when one appeared and I hadn't any cream to hand so I put it on, I kept the cold sore totally smothered, all day when I was in the house and then I put a blob on before I went to bed and when I woke up I still had a cold sore but it wasn't as noticeable, it was just a bit red, it didn't look half as bad. Only downside is when your in your own home you have to walk around with a white spot on your face, but I think that is a pretty good sacrifice to a less noticable cold sore. Also, if you are going to use make-up to cover it up, a little blob rubbed into it makes the surface a whole lot easier to apply make-up too. I would really suggest Sudocrem to anyone and I think there is no harm in trying it if everything else has failed.

Well, first of all, if you did a bunch of ab workouts there is pretty much no preventing them from hurting. Stretching will only temporarily make them feel better. I know it sounds weird but if you are looking to get that six pack everyone seems to love so much, then if they hurt the next morning it is a good thing. This means you "ripped" your abs which means they are going to heal those "rips" with brand new muscle tissue. This is how muscles grow. Personally I love it when I'm sore the next day after lifting weights and working out because I know my workout is actually working. So, I really can only recommend some Tylenol or something to help ease the pain, but be PROUD! When you are sore that means your workout is working! So give yourself a pat on the back and keep up the good work!

i have a cold sore and i gave my boyfriend oral sex without letting the actual sore touch him. we then had unprotected sex. will he get genital herpes from the fact that my saliva came in contact with his penis and will i in turn also develop the infection in my vagina as we had sex immediately afterwards? i freaked out after and made him have a shower, but didn't think of whether i was at risk at the time. will this have prevented him from getting it? my bf has never had a cold sore and niehter of us have ever had genital herpes. i'm freaking out i don't want us to get herpes!

Yes, it's possible for you spread herpes to his genital area by giving him oral sex. And, yes, it's possible for you to become infected with the virus since you had unprotected sex with him afterwards. Herpes is spread by DIRECT skin to skin contact. So, if you have him oral sex while you had a cold sore, it's possible he'll develop genital herpes. And, if he does develop genital herpes from that, then it's possible for him to spread it to you during sex (protected or not - condoms are not 100% effective). You would then have cold sores and genital herpes. Also, taking a shower won't prevent the virus from infecting him or you. Herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 causes both cold sores and genital herpes. Cold sores are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 1, while genital herpes are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 2. I'd suggest you both wait and see if either of you develop an outbreak of genital herpes. If you don't see an outbreak then you might not have it. I'd also suggest you go and get tested in a few weeks. Herpes is usually diagnosed with a physical exam when the person is having an outbreak, but it can also be diagnosed with a blood test. Q. How can i tell the difference between a sore pimple or a cold sore on my lip?
i sometimes get a pimple on the edge of my lips, but i have one that's pretty sore, so i need to know how to tell the difference between a pimple and a cold sore. i've never had one before, but my dad gets them and i've heard they're hereditary. if it is a cold sore, are there any good remedies that don't cost a lot?

HOw weird is this, it happend a few days ago to me. Except my mum always gets them. I got some zoviracs or you can use any other cold sore ointment/cream. I still dont know if u had a pimple or a cold sore. I do know now is that cold sore cream basicly got rid of all of my pimples on my face though. Once The thing on my lip went i used it on my face and in days there was a big difference, so if u have pimles as well use zoviracs (im not sure of the spelling there) Good luck ( the most stubborn cold sores dont last longer than a week, mine only lasted like 3 days)
